North Carolina Roadrunners Club (NCRC) is a running club that my husband and I both belong to. The vice president of the club and a friend of mine, Rebecca Sitton, asked if I would redesign the website for the upcoming Women’s Distance Festival 5K in September. I said that I would and as an added bonus, I also redesigned the website for the Women’s Beginner Running Program. They wanted a fresh look to their site and a cohesive design for their blog. Prior to the site’s redesign, their blog was being hosted by Blogger, they had some really good content on the blog but it wasn’t attached to the main site and it looked completely different as well.
The challenge was to make a site that had a feminine touch that had a blog and was easy for others to add or change content on.
Our solutions was to provide them with a WordPress website that has pages that would remain relatively static as well as have a area where the coordinator could easily add content the members could access.
Now the Women have a site that is easy to keep up-to-date as is made evident by the new blog posts the coordinator, Regan Reynolds, has made available to the ladies learning or re-learning how to run a 5K.
